Radiant heat, like heat from the sun, reduces harmful bacteria by heating and drying floors thus eliminating moisture which houses bacteria. A system of reflectors above the tubing directs the "radiant heat" in a downward fashion. Since infra-red heat, heats objects, not the air, the floor absorbs the majority of the heat and re-radiates it.
